Course Overview

Go from your first line of Python to a deployed REST API in 10 weeks. Learn through hands-on projects and weekly live mentoring, and graduate with a portfolio-ready capstone on GitHub.

Detailed Description

Learn by building, not by watching. Python Mastery: From Zero to a Deployed REST API is a 10-week, project-based course for people who want real programming skills, not just certificates. Every module combines short video lessons and reading guides with hands-on labs, and every lab moves you toward something you can show an employer or client. You are never left to follow along passively. Each week you meet your instructor live for a 60-90 minute session to code together, debug together, and get your questions answered, with a group cohort capped at 15 or 1-on-1 mentorship if you want a personal pace.

Key Outcome

By the end of this course, you will be able to: Beginner phase (Modules 1–3) 1. Set up a Python development environment with Python, VS Code and Git, and run scripts confidently. 2. Write programs using variables, data types, conditionals and loops to solve everyday problems. 3. Design reusable functions with parameters and return values. 4. Store and manipulate data using lists, tuples, dictionaries and sets. 5. Read and write files, and handle errors gracefully with exceptions. Intermediate phase (Modules 4–6) 6. Build object-oriented programs using classes, inheritance and encapsulation. 7. Organize code into modules and packages, and manage dependencies with virtual environments and pip. 8. Store, query and update data using SQL and SQLite from Python. 9. Collaborate using Git branching, pull requests and a team workflow. 10. Build a REST API with FastAPI that supports full CRUD operations, and send test requests with Postman. Advanced phase (Modules 7–8) 11. Write automated tests with pytest to catch bugs before they ship. 12. Apply security basics: keeping secrets out of code, validating input, and adding basic authentication. 13. Debug edge cases and use simple profiling to find slow code. 14. Package an application with Docker and deploy it to a free cloud host with a live URL. Capstone 15. Plan, build, test, document and deploy an Expense Tracker REST API, presented as a portfolio piece with a GitHub repository, a live URL and a README.
